Abstract: This paper assesses the incidence of glaucoma in the developing world and how Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) can be used to mitigate the condition. Intraocular Pressure (IOP) is a leading cause of glaucoma and is occasioned by the failure of proper drainage of the aqueous humor fluid. This leads to irreparable damage to the lens and the retina, which cause permanent blindness. It is prevalent in areas where mainstream medication and ophthalmology care is above the access and penetration of high income communities. Methods like palpitations, manometry, and telemetry have been used to measure the pressure. They are intrusive and require a personal commitment to regular checkups. However, MEMS stand a chance to offer less intrusive and highly efficacious devices to measure and report IOP. The contact lenses and on-chip sensors devices allow easy monitoring of IOP and allow constant communication of the changes to an external device. This device can be easily monitored by the patient since the instruments allows self-reporting of the condition. This makes it suitable to be used in areas where low accessibility and penetration of ophthalmologic treatment is low yet crucially needed. In addition, it taps directly to available technology of mobile and internet access thus making it feasible in its application.

Abstract: In this work, initially low-rank matrix is used for Salient object detection (SOD) and generating saliency. The Saliency map obtained using low rank matrix is then passed to the convolutional neural network (CNN) to obtain the final saliency map. Salient object has been recognized by sparse matrix and is detected using CNN, but still there remains two problems to be resolved. First, the elements in the sparse matrix which are commonly self-sufficient, avoids spatial pattern of image regions. Second, if the entire low-rank matrix and sparse matrix have been fairly well-founded, then a likeliness of the salient object and background are convoluted. To solve these problems we have proposed a novel model with two conditions: (1) We have used tree-structure sparsity breeding formalization which captures image structure and revamp to the object which has akin saliency, (2) Laplacian formalization has been used for filling the gaps in the images that contains multiple salient objects. Overall, high level priors have been used to handle matrix decomposition and to increase the salient object detection capacity, and to detect the salient object a CNN network has been designed that handles single, multiple and complex scene of images and gives the better result as compared to state-of-the-art models.

Abstract: In recent years, the access to computer networks and systems is mostly based on the use of conventional passwords. As the number of online internet services (requiring authentication) is increasing rapidly, the number of needed passwords is also increasing. The result is the load on user’s memory to remember such increasing number of passwords that makes them to create short, simple and insecure passwords. This has a possible security risk on user’s privacy. Graphical passwords have been designed to make passwords more memorable and easier; humans are more adepted at remembering images.In this paper an experimental image-based authentication system has been developed by users through authentication to online purchasing websites. This system relies on user’s ability to recognize a previously seen image. A userquestionnaire has been developed before presenting the system to the users. The system has been tested in a 2-week experiment on nearly 33 MSc students in university of Portsmouth and library staff. After collecting the results, the analysis shows that the majority of the users were interested in using image-based authentication system. The project finding illustrates some results that shows the importance of the study of image-based authentication systems. For instance, the majority of users who succeeded in authenticating through using the system have created a story by using the images. This finding could define the image-based authentication as a common practical usage.

Abstract: A minimal effort Global Positioning System (GPS) beneficiary has generally been utilized for traditional applications to track the vehicle location with respect to the co-ordinates such as Latitude and Longitude with a direction having reliable and continuous information provision as well. The main objective is to make a controllable framework that can show the area of a vehicle utilizing Global situating framework (GPS) to stick point the area and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) as a mean for speaking without any difficulty of finding after mishap occurs. The current framework is made either for mishap announcing or vehicle following at whatever point mentioned the data can be sent by means of Short Message Service (SMS).In this paper both GPRS and GPS modules are used along with Accelerometer Sensor (for vibration detection), IR Tx-Rx (to detect whether an object is coming closure to our vehicle) and Temperature sensor (to monitor engine heat). The proposed design used in real time applications undergoes by uploading the information regarding position of the vehicle into the web page and accident detection will be sent via SMS to the respective mobile number. The performance of the proposed design is analyzed and explored over ARMLPC2148.
